Arunesh Mishra - 2nd Year - Masters in Engineering, Computer Engineering - Non Thesis

 

About me: Hello, my name is Arunesh Mishra, and I am a Masters student in Computer Engineering - Non-Thesis. My primary goal is to take this class to explore the HCI field and potentially start a career in it with a mix of automotive engineering.

Background: I have interned/worked at Tesla, John Deere, and Volvo Trucks previously and hope to use HCI to explore new areas in the field of Automotive as we advance to autonomous driving. I have a limited understanding of HCI topics so taking the class will not only help me learn new concepts but also encourage me to think about topics like ethics, challenges that we see in HCI these days.

 

Further, while I have taken Machine Learning - CSCE 633 and AI- CSCE 625 which briefly introduced HCI, I do want to dig deeper into the field and understand its importance in our day-to-day life. I am also excited about the project aspect of the class which will give hands-on experience while learning the concepts. I have worked on Autonomous Driving and Medical Imaging projects in the past and hope to join/start something similar for our group project.
